Despite the high level of active safety, provisions must be made for emergencies. For this purpose, MERO has a hazard prevention plan and an internal alarm plan that regulates all immediate measures in the event of an incident:

• the alarming of the plant fire department and, if necessary, other disaster control forces
• the alarming of MERO's own stand-by personnel
• the tasks and measures of the emergency forces

The alarm planning procedures are practiced regularly.
