What happens in case of emergency ?

Hazard precautions:

In spite of the comprenesive active safety, provisions must be made for emergencies. For this purpose, MERO has an oil alarm and response plan that regulates all immediate measures in the event of damage involving an oil spill:

•    the alarming of designated emergency response teams
•    the alarming of MERO's own standby personnel and external companies
•    the tasks and measures of the emergency forces

In order to enable the emergency response teams to carry out their tasks, MERO has set up a total of 100 oil barriers along the pipeline route in all watercourses crossed by the pipeline and provided them with necessary equipment. Additional MERO-owned oil spill response material is stored at various fire brigades.

The alarming and cooperation of the emergency forces is practiced regularly.
